Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.Leviticus 19:15 · KJV
Measure every rule by what it does to the person with the least power.
Justice doesn’t tilt the scale for the poor or bow to the powerful. Fair rules protect the weak best, because the powerful are the ones who usually bend them.
Check 1This verse says to favor the rich in court.
It says not to honour the person of the mighty.

Neither side gets a thumb on the scale.
