Love God with everything. You are not the owner.
This is the first of the Ten Commandments. A god is whatever you trust most or would give up anything for. Money, success, a person, or your own comfort can quietly take that place.
Check 1An idol can be something that is not a statue.
Anything you trust or serve in God’s place works like an idol.
Check 2A good test for a rival god is:
Whatever you would hurt people for has become a god.
Write down one thing you are tempted to trust more than God, and one small step to put it back in its place.
Only check it if you did it. Nobody sees this but you.
